Kuruman - A suspect will appear in court here after police made a gruesome discovery in a mud house late last week.
The Mothibistad police is investingating a case of murder after the body of Veronica Tau (27) was found buried in her house.
The discovery was made by her mother and and one of her friends when they came looking for her.
It is alleged that Tau and her boyfriend (30) had an argument in January this year. It seems that the man then murdered his lover and then buried her in a shallow grave in the house.
After he buried her, he went to Wolmarandsstad where he statred to work on a farm in the district.
Last week Tau's mother was looking for her daughter's ID book. She could not find it and she and a friend went to Tau's house to look for it. When they looked underneath the bed they noticed that the ground was very soft. When they started to dig, they made the gruesome discovery. The police was contacted.
Experts from the Forensic Laboratory of the Police Service in Pretoria visited the scene early this week and dug up the body. It was then transported to Pretoria for forensic testing.
The suspect was arrested on Friday (9 July) and will appear in court in Kurman on a charge of murder very soon.
